About

7 Minute Books turns the world’s best books — fiction and nonfiction alike — into clear, friendly summaries you can finish in about seven minutes.

Great books carry ideas that can change how you think, work, and live. But time is short, the to-read pile only grows, and most of us never circle back to the titles we meant to get to. 7 Minute Books exists to close that gap: the heart of every book, captured faithfully, in the time it takes to make a coffee.

Three ways to take in a book

Every title comes in three formats, so you can learn whichever way fits the moment:

  • Listen. A warm, two-host audio conversation — about seven minutes — free here and on your favourite podcast app.
  • Read. A tightly written summary you can skim on a break or study line by line, with the key ideas pulled to the surface.
  • Glance. Infographics that map a book’s big ideas visually, for when you just want the shape of it at once.

The free audio episodes and transcripts live here on 7minutebooks.com. The full readable library, with infographics, lives on app.7minutebooks.com.

Meet your hosts

Every episode is a conversation between Sam and Sophie, your two hosts. Instead of reading a summary at you, they talk it through — Sam drawing out the big argument, Sophie pressing on the details, both trading the examples and turns of phrase that make an idea stick. It’s the feeling of overhearing two sharp, curious friends who just finished the same book and can’t wait to unpack it.

Their job is to stay faithful to the author while keeping you genuinely engaged for seven minutes — no filler, no padding, just the core of the book in good company.

Built by one person

7 Minute Books is the work of a single engineer: Ibnul Jaif Farabi. Every part of it — the summaries, the audio, this website, the artwork, and the reader app — is designed, built, and produced end to end by one person.

Ibnul is an engineer, writer, and builder based in New York City. Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, he trained as an engineer at RUET and Southern Illinois University, and has worked at Amazon, Tata Consultancy Services, and NYC Health + Hospitals — pairing large-scale systems thinking with a love of storytelling. 7 Minute Books is published under LinkedByte, his independent studio for audiobooks, apps, games, podcasts, and digital projects.

One person, one obsession: making the big ideas inside great books reachable for anyone, anywhere.

Our mission

We’re building the most complete library of book summaries ever assembled — across business, psychology, history, science, philosophy, memoir, and storytelling — so that curiosity is never blocked by a lack of time. And this is only the beginning.
